This new BlackBerry device came with a clamshell design with some specific elements that might not make it best looking phone around but it certainly was looking very unique. When closed, the phone measures 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.7 inches in dimensions and 3.6 ounces in weight. Available in either black or red, I think that it is safe to say we are dealing with a phone that has a great built in construction, even if when you flip it open, it seems too big. The external display measures 1.6 inches in diagonal and it can support 65k colors. The resolution of the small display is 128 x 160 pixels. This external display will show you information about missed calls, new messages and caller ID plus many others.

Features are a very important chapter in the life of this new BlackBerry device. You get full e-mail support which has always been a strong point of BlackBerry models. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip was able to recognize six different instant messaging providers: BlackBerry Messenger, Google Talk, Yahoo!, Windows Live, AOL and ICQ. Using the attachment viewer you can now check out Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as well as JPEGs, PDFs and even Corel files plus many more. As for the voice features, know that this cell phone comes with a speakerphone, voice dialing recognition, conference calling and even quad band world roaming. But only is this new BlackBerry device good for calling and texting, it is also keen on multimedia features as well. it supports tone of video and audio file formats like MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, MIDI, MPEG4, H.263 or WMV.

If the 128 MB of integrated memory is not pleasing, maybe a micro SD card with 16 GB will do the trick. The list of cool features has not ended as we still have a 2 megapixel camera which has flash, 5x zoom plus the ability to record videos. With 4 hours of talk time and 14 days in standby mode, the battery performance is not the most spectacular, but still ok for a phone like the BlackBerry Pearl Flip.
